The ''Big Six'' majors, whose operations are based in or around Hollywood, are all centred in film studios active during Hollywood's Golden Age of the1930s and 1940s.
The current majors are:

- Warner Bros. (Time Warner)
- The Walt Disney Studios (Disney)
- NBCUniversal (Comcast)
- Fox Entertainment Group (21st Century Fox)
- Paramount Motion Pictures Group (Viacom)
